Mayor Alex Galbraith and Hinton Town Council

The Train Station Preservation Steering Committee has selected a preferred relocation site for the placement of the GTPR Station House for historic preservation.

The site located east of the Hinton Chrysler and west of the Forestry Training Centre (?Lot B, Plan 2438 T.R.?) along Gregg Avenue, has been chosen.  This site is preferable for its location near the original building site and the rail lines, access to the Hinton Trail System and location at the entrance to the Forestry Museum and Interpretive Trails.

The committee is asking the Town of Hinton for re-zoning of the lot for development for the relocation and preservation of the Hinton GTPR Station House.

Confirmation of a relocation site is vital in procuring the building from VIA Rail Canada by the mid April deadline and in ensuring the continuation of this community cultural preservation project.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Lorraine Johnston-MacKay
