It was a pleasure talking to you about your groups proposal to move Hinton's
Historic Railway Station to the site on Town property located just below the
Hinton Training Centre Valleyview residence. I applaud your initiative to
preserve a part of Hinton's history and as Manager of the Hinton Training
Centre, support your efforts. I am excited about the potential to link our
existing trail system from the Railway Museum to our existing Forestry
Museum which we are currently planning to expand. In addition I believe we
can assist each other in encouraging visitors at each museum to visit the
other's using the connecting trail. There may be other opportunities where
we might be able to partner or assist and I can address these individually
on their own merits. The idea of a shared curator on a project basis to set
up expositions etc. is one example. Keep in mind that as we are a Provincial
Government entity, there are policies and guidelines that we must address
and abide by.
